The Viennese artist Ernst Friedrich spent over six month in Bayreuth with several visits at porcelain factory Walküre. He familiarized himself with the material ”porcelain” by studying the daily working routine. In numerous attempts the artist treated the porcelain in various stages of production. Due to deformation and surface processing he developed new techniques for modifying the material. His artistic period at the porcelain factory Walküre turned out to be the Malzeit. The result of his creative work in Bayreuth is the new pattern Malzeit.
